Double exposure- placing one image atop another.
Sepia- filtering a photo with a brownish colour.
Black and white- filtering a photo in a black to white spectrum
Emphasis- one object stands out with colour
Boat in hand- an optical illusion with 2 objects of diff. sizes.
Silhouette- having a light in the background turn an object black.
The rule of 3rds makes a photo look visually interesting.
Truthfully, I don't like the excessive use of photoshop but I know why they do it and its not just in magazines. I know from personal experience that pictures of other people that they take influences the use of photoshopping selfies and other things just to try and look good for other people and try to uphold to todays standards of beauty. While I don't like to admit it, I use photoshop to change the way I look and I know if I use it that others use it and there's nothing really that we can do about it. I guess that's one of the prices we have to pay to be and look "normal" in this day and age.
