My favourite colour theory is Analogous(Blue, Blue Green, and Green). I prefer things to look like they belong and all the other ones just look out of place.
Double exposure- placing one image atop another. Sepia- filtering a photo with a brownish colour. Black and white- filtering a photo in a black to white spectrum Emphasis- one object stands out with colour Boat in hand- an optical illusion with 2 objects of diff. sizes. Silhouette- having a light in the background turn an object black. The rule of 3rds makes a photo look visually interesting. Trompe L'Oeil was used to create the illusion that my mouth got split wide open and a cross was carved onto my head.
Truthfully, I don't like the excessive use of photoshop but I know why they do it and its not just in magazines. I know from personal experience that pictures of other people that they take influences the use of photoshopping selfies and other things just to try and look good for other people and try to uphold to todays standards of beauty. While I don't like to admit it, I use photoshop to change the way I look and I know if I use it that others use it and there's nothing really that we can do about it. I guess that's one of the prices we have to pay to be and look "normal" in this day and age.
My favourite element of art is definitely texture. I feel it offers lots of extra detail and takes lots of skill. My favourite principle of art is rhythm aand movement. You can really tell a lot about a picture by the movement that's in it. |
